If we really think about how our lives have changed or about our daily routines since the emergence of new technologies, the above phrase does not seem like an exaggeration. Without going too much into it, nowadays many transactions, purchases, consultations, and requests do not require that we move from one place to another. Having a device connected to the internet with access to multiple services that can be activated with just a tap on a smartphone screen is enough.
These technological advances have not only affected consumers but have also changed the way many companies do business. To innovate, companies require that their clients have a mobile phone application that familiarizes them with the business, that makes them feel better and more closely serviced while facilitating their transactions.
We at Evertec as well as our customers have seen this need to develop products and services using mobile technologies to facilitate day-to-day interactions with customers. In 2018, relying on collaboration and a highly trained team with lots of ideas, our Evertec Bogotá office began to work on an application for Android and iOS mobile devices that will benefit users of private multi-segment cards.
After much analysis, setup of functionalities, and design, we developed an application that includes transactions that customers previously executed through other channels that took more time, such as calling a telephone number.
The functional basis of this application is divided into modules in which transactions can be performed as part of users’ day-to-day, such as balance inquiry for each section, verifying transactions, making transfers between accounts, and generating tokens for withdrawals and purchases, among others.
If we once saw it as just a possibility, as of August 2019 and with Evertec’s collaboration, it is now a reality. This application is operable with Android and iOS devices and already has more than 9,000 downloads. The application has been very well received by our customer’s users and reaffirms the idea that, when technology companies, business partners, and final users work together, the impossible is possible.
